March Sales Vancouver West Side
March saw a renewed optimism in the West Side real estate market, with 253 sales of attached properties and 91 sales of detached properties for a total of 344 West Side sales reported on MLS for the month. This roughly 48% lower than the number of transactions in March 2008, where a brisk market saw 659 sales reported for the same month in 2008.
With prices having levelled in the last month and interest rates as low as 3.8% on a five year mortgage, many more people are realizing that this is a unique opportunity to buy.
In Coal Harbour some great deals were made including a 2000 square foot NW facing 2 bedroom on a high floor in Shaw Tower which sold for $2.230m., and in Cielo a 1241 square foot 2 bedroom sold for $705/sq ft! This is pricing we grew accustomed to seeing in the high density corridor of downtown's Seymour and Richards St., not at the water's edge in Coal Harbour!
