100 Mile Diet, UBC Farm

Joy and I were musing on a recent jaunt in Coal Harbour about what The Hundred Mile Diet would look like to a resident of Coal Harbour, where there is a distinct shortage of vegetable gardens.  A trip to Urban Fare would likely prove the end game.  We'd gotten onto the subject while discussing the possiblity that our favorite local Saturday morning market at The UBC Farm might disappear.  The UBC Saturday morning market may not be as diverse as the other market we rave about-- on Salt Spring Island--but it is more regularly accessible to us.

So, we were relieved to hear the results of Friday's vote on whether or not The UBC Farm would be maintained in its current location.  The 24-hectare "learning farm" will remain on its current site.
